BEST ACCOUNTING PROF EVER! She also is motherly and friendly to her students. Although you have to exert effort, but that's just her way to push you to bring out your abilities! :) Super lucky that I was under her :)

ACTBAS1- kailangan mo talaga ilabas 101% mo, minsan kulang pa nga eh. Eto pinaka mahirap ituturo niya sayo kasi wala ka pang background. Masungit talaga siya sa ACTBAS1. pero pag dating mo sa ACTBAS2 sulit na hardwork mo! sobrang bait na at mas madaling intindiin
medyo di ako makasabay sa kanya while she's teaching. I need to choose kung take down notes or just listen. :)) Ang hirap ipagsabay pag under ni miss elsie pero she's great. Try mo lang makinig matutuo ka. Ewan na lang kung maalala mo pa kaya kelangan mag takedown notes.

Best! :) Very competent and you will REALLY REALLY learn a lot from her.. She was my prof in all my basic acctg subjects (bas1, bas2, paco), and I must say, I wouldn't have passed the quali if it wasn't for her! If you're BSA, DON'T BE AFRAID of the comments na she gives very hard quizzes and that half/more than half of the class fails her...good side naman kasi is that you will really have advantage! :)
Mother of accounting! Grabe I failed bas1 sakanya (1.5) then I got her this summer term which i managed to pass. She pass those who really deserves to pass. Get her kung pwede sa lahat ng basic accuonting subjects especially sa ACTPACO. sobrang tricky nya mag paquiz but it really helps pag midterms, finals, and especially for BSA students, sa quali.
Tsaka iba ung feeling pag after ng term pwede mong mapagmalaki na "Nakapasa ako kay Velasco!" :)
"Ang kilabot ng Accounting" - i'm a BMG graduate but she became my prof for 3 straight terms (actbas1, actbas2, and actpaco). accounting under her makes a good wake up call na college isn't all fun and games anymore. her quizzes are hard, so study well! my study habits were changed coz of my experience being her student :)
I fail ACTBAS1 under her, but that didn't mean she's an awful prof. In fact, she rocks. She's a wake up call for those who need one.

Ms. Velasco is a really REALLY good prof! In fact, the BEST! At first you'll find her really strict but that's just her way of training her students. She encourages naman her students along the way. She always tells us that accounting is "sipag at tiyaga", which is true. Overall, one can learn a lot from her, academics & attitude wise!

Get a tutor once you feel that you're having a really hard time in her class. She's an okay person. She's the Mother of Accounting. Just bear with her. She says you need a lot of patience pero feeling ko she lacks patience also eh. HAHAHA Just get a tutor / ask someone to help you, practice A LOT, and do your best. She curves the grades naman (for ACTBA1 anyway). I didn't pass because I gave up and I didn't get a tutor na. I did my best pero there.. I lacked practice I guess?

A must get professor especially if you're a BSA major. Napakahirap magpatest neto! Lalo na quiz 1 wala atang pumapasa :)) kelangan talaga aral! Best accounting prof to! Pag napasa mo to parang sure pass ka na rin sa CPA Board. LOL
she has a great sense of humor and a very good teacher...she can answer all of your questions, but be warned: she has a tendency to shoot down students who ask "dumb questions". Also, her exams are extremely tricky...they will drag you to hell!!!! You really have to study for this subject if she's your prof...
She's the best professor in Accounting Department. She teaches very very well but her quizzes are very tricky. Just pay attention to her class and DO NOT CUT HER CLASS. :)

The best prof for Accounting majors, good for Finance majors. Other than that, don't waste your time, unless you feel like bragging about how brave you are for taking her. Good luck trying to explain that to your employer, as if they'll really care about anything other than your grades, whether you came from a terror or chill prof.
Don't give up if mataas kailangan mo sa final exam. i needed a 97 to pass, and i still passed. as long as you do your share. I also never passed one of her quizzes (mga 2-4 points below lang). Take her for summer term para focused ka talaga sa course niya
I'm telling you guys, this lady made me go back on track. I thank her for reminding us how important it is to study hahaha legit. My study habits have really changed because of her! REALLY hard quizzes but with hardwork, you'll pass them. She's a MENAJE + MANALO kind of prof haha. BEST ACCOUNTING PROFESSOOOR
Yes, she may be a hard prof to pass. Yes, she may give crazy difficult quizzes....but soon enough you'll learn to appreciate it. I took her for summer term and I went crazy, but with enough effort I was able to pass her AND the qualifying exam. I seriously don't think I would have passed it if it weren't for all those hardships she gave me. So thank you, Ms. Velasco. I consider myself really lucky to be under you.

Mabait naman si ms. velasco, eh. Her quizzes will really make you think, but it IS passable. :D I like her style of teaching kasi may flow. I'm not sure how to describe it. Yung ibang prof kasi lumilipad lipad ng tinuturo. She sticks to her own river. Ang galing promise! You will really REALLYYYY learn from her. Thanks to her, I understood ACTPACO. And, I passed the quali! Yaay. Of course, my thanks is to God first, and then kay ms. elsie. :>
Does she adjust grades? Based on our mid-term average, only 5 people passed...

Great prof! I learned a lot from her and I exert a lot of effort just to pass her subject. I got a 1.0 in her midterm grade and then I study hard and got a 2.5 sa kanya :D
The BEST accounting prof ever. Her quizzes are very challenging, but they are doable if you just listen in her class.
Just finished my first sem and got a 4.0 in ACTBAS1.
People say that she's a "terror" prof, but in all reality she is extremely easy to pass even if you do not listen in class. I just watched YouTube videos to get the lessons because sometimes she doesn't explain it as thoroughly as you would expect. I honestly don't get why so many students fear her reputation as a "terror" prof.
Easy pass
Had her as my ACCTBA1 and ACCTBA2. She's really a great prof! Honestly she gives hard quizzes but if you do your homeworks and practice always, youll do good. At first she was very strict but as time goes on, shes really nice and sometimes cracks jokes. Bottom line is, if you want to learn and your hardworking, you must get her but if youre too lazy, DONT. Best prof for me. I love her.

She was my prof in all basic acct. subjects a few years back. I got 3,3,3.5 in bas1,bas2 and paco respectively. Thanks to her, the qualif. exam was a walk in the park. MUST TAKE!
Does she give special projects for those who want to push their grades higher in the finals?
She's very strict at first but she's also very motherly. Had her for both ACCTBA1 and ACCTBA2 and she's a really GOOD PROF! She'll make you study but it'll all be worth it in the end!
